An established precision engineering manufacturer in Wareham is looking to recruit an experienced Toolmaker to join its skilled production team. This is a hands‑on workshop‑based role offering stable long‑term employment, varied day‑to‑day work, and opportunities for progression within a supportive engineering environment.

The role would suit an experienced manual machinist who enjoys producing high‑quality bespoke components, jigs and fixtures, and working to tight engineering standards.

As a Toolmaker
, you will be responsible for manufacturing precision components and supporting the wider production function through tooling, fixtures and manual machining work.

• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Manufacturing bespoke jigs, fixtures and tooling.
• Operating and programming XYZ ProtoTRAK milling machines.
• Carrying out manual milling and turning operations.
• Producing components to ISO 9001 quality standards.
• Deburring, finishing and polishing components.
• Conducting self‑inspection throughout the manufacturing process.
• Supporting the creation of work instructions and production documentation.
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and health & safety.

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in manual machining (milling and turning).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving ability.
• Confident working independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable, organised and self‑motivated approach.
• Willingness to develop within a growing engineering environment.

• £19.00 per hour.
• Permanent full-time position (40 hours per week).
• Overtime available at enhanced rates.
