Locum Social Worker – Birth to Settled Adulthood Service Team
Location: Wareham
Pay Rate: £38.00 – £42.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Contract: Ongoing Locum – Maternity Cover

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Locum Social Worker to join the Birth to Settled Adulthood Service Team in Wareham, covering maternity leave. This dynamic role supports children and young people aged 0–25, offering a varied caseload and the chance to make a meaningful impact within a specialist, multi-disciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a diverse caseload across Early Help, Child in Need, Child Protection, and Children in Care.

  • Work closely with Preparation for Adulthood colleagues to support transition planning for young people and families.

  • Collaborate with Social Workers, Paediatric Occupational Therapists, Best Start in Life Advisers, and Family Workers.

  • Build strong, supportive relationships with children and families, ensuring tailored interventions.

  • Liaise effectively with external agencies and community organisations to promote integrated service delivery.

Requirements
  • Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.

  • Experience with in children’s services is essential; disability services experience is advantageous.

  • Ability to work autonomously and manage a varied caseload effectively.

  • Own transport required due to the rural nature of the area.
