Patient Access Intake Representative – Urgent Care
Southcoast Health, a not‑for‑profit, charitable health system, is seeking a patient access intake representative for our urgent care facility in Wareham, MA. This per‑diem role involves facilitating patient access, ensuring compliance with policies, managing patient liabilities, and maintaining timely payment for services.
Responsibilities- Perform a wide variety of duties to facilitate patient access throughout the organization.
- Ensure patient compliance with applicable SPG policy and obtain accurate patient information for safety and reimbursement.
- Determine and actively collect patient liabilities.
- Sign biomedical waste manifest receipts when vendors pick up waste.
- Work weekends and holidays; may be required to stay after scheduled closing time if patients check in late.
- Maintain schedules:
Day shift Monday–Friday 8:00 am–8:30 pm and Saturday–Sunday 9:00 am–5:30 pm.
- High school graduation or equivalent; associate’s degree preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong computer skills, including medical‑based programs; proficiency with Word and Excel preferred.
- Over three years of related health‑care experience, including work with third‑party payers, preferred.
- Completion of state‑approved biomedical waste training required within 90 days of hire.
- Full vaccination against seasonal influenza and COVID‑19 required, unless exempt by medical or personal statement.
USD $17.86 – $28.76 per hour, based on experience.

One summer holiday (Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day) and one winter holiday (Veterans’ Day, day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, day after Christmas, New Year’s Eve, January 2, Martin Luther King Day).
