THE EMPLOYER IS: WARINGSTOWN CRICKET CLUBTo develop and deliver cricket-playing opportunities across the club, school and community settings; increase participation (especially juniors, women & girls), support and grow the volunteer workforce (coaches/officiators), and help build sustainable club-structures that align with strategic priorities for cricket-development.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a club development plan for participation, retention and performance (especially in junior sections, women & girls, and beginner pathways).
  • Work with local schools to deliver introductory cricket sessions, link school-cricket into the club (e.g., transition school players into club junior teams).
  • Lead/co-ordinate the club’s delivery of national/regional programmes (e.g., beginner formats, festivals, All Stars/Dynamos equivalents) and ensure the club maximises these opportunities.
  • Support and develop the volunteer workforce: recruit, train, mentor coaches, activators, officials; deliver coach-education and CPD within the club.
  • Liaise with clubs, leagues, county/regional bodies to ensure the club has strong links and appropriate accreditation/certification (e.g., club development accreditation).
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on programmes, projects and funding where relevant (including grant applications, funding bodies, sponsors).
  • Promote inclusive cricket and outreach into under-represented groups (e.g., girls, people with disabilities, diverse communities).
Skills and Qualifications
  • Passion for cricket, and an ability to engage with children, adults and volunteers.
  • Experience of sport development, coaching or working with clubs and volunteers.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal, written, presentation).
  • Good organisational and project-management skills (can juggle multiple programmes, meet deadlines).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding children and young people; willingness to undertake required checks (e.g., Enhanced DBS or NI equivalent).
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle (due to travel between schools/clubs).
  • A recognised coaching qualification (e.g., ECB Level 2 or equivalent).
  • Prior experience working in a club, school or community cricket setting.
  • Experience of delivering programmes for women & girls or inclusive cricket (disability/diverse communities).
  • Understanding of the local cricket landscape (Northern Ireland, NCU region) and of national development programmes.
  • Experience of applying for and managing grants/funding.
  • Experience of coach-education or mentor roles.
