Five Rivers is a leading design and build specialist delivering ecological, environmental and civil engineering projects across the UK. From river restoration, habitat creation, landscaping and arboriculture to engineered fish passage, temporary enabling works, drainage, civil engineering and M&E, we deliver both soft and hard engineered solutions that are safe, sustainable and compliant.

We are looking for a site-based supervisor to join our team, leading Civil & Environmental projects from mobilisation to completion. You’ll manage teams, oversee subcontractors and ensure works are delivered to the highest Safety, Quality, Time, and Cost (SQTC) standards. Many projects involve working in or near rivers, wetlands, or coastal areas, so environmental sensitivity and compliance are key.

• Supervise civil and environmental works, including earthworks, drainage, foundations, retaining walls, culverts, sheet piling, pumping stations and habitat enhancements.
• Lead site mobilisation, inductions, daily briefings and safe systems of work (CDM 2015).
• Manage plant, tools, equipment and materials efficiently to meet programme and budget requirements.
• Ensure compliance with HSE, environmental permits, biodiversity objectives and ISO 9001 quality standards.
• Record project progress, site data and documentation accurately.
• Motivate, lead, and develop site teams, fostering a collaborative, high‑performing culture.
• Support pre‑construction planning, site surveys and post‑construction demobilisation.

• Experience supervising civils, construction or environmental projects.
• CSCS card
• SSSTS
• UK driving licence.
• First Aid and Fire Marshall certifications (training can be provided).
• Ability to stay away from home Monday–Friday.
• Strong Health & Safety awareness, leadership, and commercial understanding.
• Thames Water Passport
• Confined Spaces Training
• Lifting Supervisor or Slinger/Signaller Certification
• Temporary works supervisor/ coordinator
