In September 1955, Sacred Heart Catholic School opened its doors with ninety students in two classrooms in a surplus military barrack. Just one year later, the school had nearly doubled in size and welcomed four Presentation Sisters from Cork, Ireland, who arrived to staff the school. Eighty years later, the tradition of academic excellence in middle Georgia continues. Sharing its campus with a vibrant parish community, today Sacred Heart Catholic School serves nearly 300 students in grades PK2 to eight supported by approximately sixty members of the administration, faculty, and staff.
In keeping withthe traditions of the Presentation Sisters, at Sacred Heart Catholic School, every child shines with the light of the Catholic faith through service, self-discipline, and academic excellence.
Under the supervision of the Pastor, the Principal fulfills the mission of the Catholic school, serving as the spiritual, educational, visionary, relational and managerial leader charged with implementing the philosophy, mission, and management of the school.
