THIS POSITION IS LOCATED AT ROBINS AFB, GA

The selected candidate will serve as a subject matter expert in aerospace systems corrosion control, prevention and mitigation and aircraft maintenance. Primary duties include field assessment of base, MAJCOM, and other US Air Force corrosion programs. Other duties include identifying corrosion related material and process needs, identifying solutions, participating in development and integration of new solutions, and advising weapon system program offices.

Additionally, the selected candidate will serve as an adviser to senior leadership, governance boards and multi service corrosion forums, and help plan, coordinate, and execute corrosion training programs and corrosion specific marketing and communications efforts. The position requires expertise that enables prompt, credible responses to field, program office, and Air Logistics Complex questions regarding corrosion and coatings.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include serving as a subject matter expert in aerospace systems corrosion control, prevention and mitigation and aircraft maintenance; conducting field assessments of corrosion programs; identifying corrosion-related material and process needs; developing and integrating new solutions; advising weapon system program offices; serving as an adviser to senior leadership and governance boards; planning, coordinating, and executing corrosion training programs and related marketing and communications efforts;

and providing prompt, credible responses to questions regarding corrosion and coatings.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Twelve years’ experience in aerospace corrosion control or structural maintenance OR an Associates degree and 8 years’ experience in aerospace corrosion control or structural maintenance.
  • Knowledgeable of Air Force aircraft maintenance organizational structure.
  • Knowledgeable of military materials, processes and standards.
  • Basic knowledge on US Air Force corrosion control equipment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, independent worker with impeccable judgment.
  • Familiar with US Air Force corrosion-control related technical orders.
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision.
  • Willing to travel.
  • Ability to obtain a secret clearance within 1 year of hire.
  • Due to the requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. citizen.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Fifteen Years experience in aerospace corrosion control or structural maintenance or a Bachelor’s degree and 10 years’ experience in aerospace corrosion control or structural maintenance.
  • Extensive knowledge of US Air Force Corrosion Control Equipment and corrosion control facilities.
  • Experience as an Air Force maintenance Flight/Group Superintendent.
  • Three or more years’ experience working in the AF corrosion prevention control office.
  • Three or more years’ experience in an Air Force Air Logistics Complex.
  • Experience with low observable platforms.
  • Familiar with US Air Force corrosion-control related technical orders and material military/commercial standards.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated self-starter with vision to see new ways of doing business.
  • Ability to lead a team.
