We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Ultrasound Technologist to join our medical imaging team. The Ultrasound Technologist will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations, providing high-quality images to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment. This role requires attention to detail, technical expertise, and a patient-centered approach to ensure optimal care and comfort during procedures.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities :
- Perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including but not limited to abdominal, obstetrical, gynecological, vascular, and musculoskeletal exams, based on physician orders.
- Operate ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images, ensuring proper positioning and technique.
- Prepare and educate patients about the procedure, addressing any questions or concerns and ensuring their comfort.
- Review and evaluate images for clarity, quality, and diagnostic value, making adjustments as needed.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare professionals to discuss imaging results and provide accurate diagnostic support.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including exam documentation and imaging results, in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards.
- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and in compliance with safety and infection control standards.
- Stay updated on advancements in ultrasound technology and techniques to provide the best care possible.
- Adhere to all hospital, departmental, and regulatory policies, procedures, and standards, including HIPAA guidelines.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field.
- Current certification through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or equivalent credential (e.g., RVT, RDMS).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- 1-3 years of clinical ultrasound experience preferred but not required.]
- Proficiency in operating ultrasound equipment and knowledge of various sonographic procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to assess and respond to patient needs during imaging procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, assist patients, and operate imaging equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to push or pull heavy objects using up to 50 pounds of force
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to use fine motor skills to operate office equipment and/or machinery
- Ability to receive and comprehend instructions verbally and/or in writing
- Ability to use logical reasoning for simple and complex problem solving
