Medical Assistant – Primary Care Practice

Location:

Perry, GA (as indicated by job listing). This is a full-time position offering a supportive and collaborative work environment with opportunities for professional development and growth.

• Provide immunizations, take vitals, and room patients; perform clinical and clerical duties as assigned.
• Prepare patients for physician visits, perform tests, and file relevant documents.
• Receive and direct phone calls, obtain necessary patient information, and update records; ensure forms and consents are completed.
• Deliver patient care activities to assist physicians and nursing staff; maintain quality standards.
• Check-out patients, assist with referrals, and arrange laboratory services.
• Set up examination rooms and equipment, take vitals, record patient health history, and assist with examinations.
• Operate EKG machines and perform ancillary tests; administer injections and medications; collect and test specimens.
• Maintain supply inventory and ensure exam rooms are equipped; manage messages and prior authorizations as needed.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current Medical Assistant Certification is required (AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, or RMA). Level-1 applicants with >5 years of MA experience may be considered with limited career ladder opportunities.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification via AHA.
• Successful completion of applicable competency assessments within 90 days of hire.
• Clear and courteous communication with patients and external parties; knowledge of medical terminology.
• Understanding of medical practices, administrative processes, and patient care procedures.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate compassion and professionalism.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or in a team; strong multitasking skills.
• English language proficiency (verbal and written); computer literacy with basic Microsoft Office tools.
• Ability to prioritize, coordinate tasks, and travel between locations if required.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; push/pull heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods; use fine motor skills for equipment and tasks.
• Ability to understand instructions verbally and in writing; perform problem solving as needed.
• May be required to travel to multiple locations to support business needs.
