We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Ultrasound Technologist to join our medical imaging team. The Ultrasound Technologist will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations, providing high-quality images to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment. This role requires attention to detail, technical expertise, and a patient-centered approach to ensure optimal care and comfort during procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including abdominal, obstetrical, gynecological, vascular, and musculoskeletal exams based on physician orders.
- Operate ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality images, ensuring proper positioning and technique.
- Prepare and educate patients about procedures, addressing questions and ensuring comfort.
- Review and evaluate images for clarity, quality, and diagnostic value, making adjustments as needed.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to discuss imaging results and provide diagnostic support.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including exam documentation and imaging results.
- Ensure equipment is maintained, calibrated, and complies with safety standards.
- Stay updated on ultrasound technology advancements.
- Adhere to hospital, departmental, and regulatory policies, including HIPAA.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field.
- Current certification through ARDMS or equivalent (e.g., RVT, RDMS).
- Current BLS certification.
- 1-3 years of clinical ultrasound experience preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in ultrasound equipment operation and sonographic procedures.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to assess and respond to patient needs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical ability to stand, lift, and operate equipment.
- Ability to lift and push up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand and sit for extended periods.
- Use of fine motor skills and logical reasoning.
FLSA Classification:
Non-exempt.
