Paramedic - Advanced at HOUSTON MEDICAL CENTER

Work Shift:

Day - 12 Hour (United States of America)

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Respond effectively to emergency and non‑emergency 911 calls in Houston County, GA, and surrounding areas.
  • Provide advanced pre‑hospital assessment, treatment, and stabilization of patients in various settings.
  • Ensure safe and efficient care during transfer of critically ill or injured patients to designated medical facilities.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in airway management, IV therapy, advanced cardiac life support, and other critical care procedures.
Operations & Equipment
  • Operate and maintain emergency response vehicles, always ensuring readiness.
Documentation & Communication
  • Maintain accurate, detailed documentation of patient care and transport activities.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, medical teams, and receiving facilities.
Compliance and Professional Standards
  • Adhere to all EMS policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
  • Engage in continuous education and skills development to stay current with industry standards.

Travel:
Some travel between operating units.

Qualifications
  • Education & Training: High School graduate or GED equivalent. Completion of a vocational training program as a Paramedic.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a paramedic, preferably with critical care and 911 background.
  • Required Certifications/Licensure: Valid Georgia Paramedic License with current state licensure. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Current AHA/ARC BLS certification. Current AHA ACLS/ARC ALS certification. AHA/ARC PALS certification or within 9 months of hire. CPT training within 9 months of hire. FAST‑ED stroke scale or obtained within three (3) months of hire. Critical Care Paramedic (CC‑P) or Flight Paramedic (FP‑C) within 3 months of hire.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Excellent clinical assessment and decision‑making skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team under high‑pressure situations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
