NOTICE OF OPENING:
Middle School and High School Security Guard

LOCATION:

Chatterton Middle School and Fitzgerald High School

WORK YEAR:  School Year; 181 days per year

SALARY:
Employed through EDU Staff; $17.00 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to build positive & appropriate rapport with students.
  • Experience working with/supervising students
  • Physically able to continuously walk the hallways of the building.
  • Able to effectively prevent and/or intercede in student altercations in the building.
  • Trained in de-escalation techniques, preferred.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written directions.
  • Ability to use good judgment in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Possess effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience using general technology equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND

DUTIES INCLUDE:
  • Supervise conduct of students in all areas within the school and support the staff with student behavior management.
  • Ensure that students are all following District and school policies and guidelines.
  • Ensures smooth traffic flow of students through the hallways, assists students with on-time arrival to class and to assigned locations as needed including parking lot supervision.
  • Assist with fire drills and other emergency building evacuations / lock downs.
  • Maintain security records and protect strict confidentiality of all information.
  • Supervise lunchroom during all appropriate times as directed.
  • Inform the building administration of all conduct believed to require student discipline or police contact.
  • Assist in updating discipline guidelines for students and staff.
  • Responds to all email, phone, written and verbal communications as directed.
  • Performs other duties as may be delegated by the building administration.
