Understand that you will lead our design team in developing automated and manual fixtures for Body‑In‑White applications, focusing on Resistance Welding. Your role is critical in ensuring the successful execution of mechanical designs using 3‑D solid modeling tools while fostering a collaborative and high‑performance team environment.

$30.00/hr - $45.00/hr

• Maintain and manage open issues related to design projects. Monitor project status and report progress through departmental documentation.
• Interpret project scope and manage internal and customer‑driven changes.
• Develop new processes and tooling content to enhance design efficiency. Release mechanical designs to processing and collaborate with manufacturing and process departments.
• Supervise and support a team of technical professionals, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and project timelines. Allocate tasks and responsibilities based on employee skill sets, project needs, and deadlines. Foster a collaborative and accountable work environment through regular check‑ins, performance feedback, and mentorship.
• Lead and mentor the mechanical design team through effective communication, coaching, and development. Oversee the submission, accuracy, and approval of employee timecards in accordance with company policy. Support performance evaluations and participate in hiring processes.
• Coordinate team activities and ensure alignment with customer and program specifications. Assist the Mechanical Design Manager in planning and scheduling design activities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED required. Associate degree preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design with expertise in Body‑In‑White weld fixtures (Resistance or MIG).
• 5+ years of experience leading technical professionals.
• Proficient in NX, Inventor, Unigraphics, Catia and Teamcenter.
• Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite.

This position operates in an office environment.

Regularly works on‑site at the local PASLIN location. Typical work schedules for this site are flexible around core business hours of 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. The position is for regular, full‑time work and may require coming in early, working late, or working on weekends to meet the needs of the business.

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and twist. Occasionally required to lift/push/pull up to 25 lbs.

This position reports to the Mechanical Design Manager and has direct reports.

This position may require occasional travel to customer sites or local travel to other PASLIN locations.
