Senior Engineering Recruiter Aerospace & Defense, Engineering, IT, Technical, Medical & Science LSS Green Belt, Scrum MasterAkkodis is recruiting for a Connected and Autonomous Vehicle Engineer for a client in the Warren, MI area. This is an onsite contract position with a pay range of $50 an hour to $55 an hour depending on education, experience and location.
- PhD degree in an engineering background, such as,
Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics
. Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Applied Math can also be considered, if with a relevant experience. - Taken fundamental computer science courses, such as, data structure and algorithms, deep learning, artificial intelligence, statistics, etc.
- Good GPA (minimal: 3.5) and good academic publications
- Proficient at coding with Python or C++
- Any experience related to autonomous driving, robotics, transportation, or other vehicular technology.
Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAV) is a technical area of major growth in automotive industry. Modern vehicles are being seamlessly integrated into wireless communication networks, road infrastructure, Cloud Computing and Edge Computing environments. The connected vehicle ecosystem will enhance driving safety, increase transportation efficiency, bring emerging use cases, and create new business opportunities.
This research position will participate our CAV projects. The successful candidate will show strong background in system building and independent research. The candidate will be involved in the full development cycle in our CAV projects, including system design, coding, testing, integration, and documentation. Independent research and problem-solving skills are important to this position. The position will need to explore unclearly defined problems, write code, implement a Proof-of-Concept system, and conduct on-road driving tests.
- Preferred Requirements:
PhD or Master’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline. - Good knowledge or experience in localization and mapping (including SLAM), robotics, deep learning models, autonomous driving technologies.
- Good knowledge in data structure and algorithm design. Good critical thinking skills and software debugging skills. Strong system building skills in Linux development, such as, ROS, socket/multi-thread programming, etc. Good understanding of Python, C++, and object-oriented design patterns.
