Insight Surgical Hospital is a small, friendly and minimally invasive surgical center and clinic with patient services second to none! Every member of our team is crucial to the patient experience and our success! Our Hospital and Clinic do not treat general illnesses, including COVID‑19, and have required health safety measures in place for everyone prior to entering the facility, including temperature and symptom checks, required PPE and other health hygiene measures.

Job Summary

Our approachable, personable and proactive Dietary Aide/Prep helps support our patients and staff members through positive customer relations activities. The Dietary Aide/Prep will serve, prepare and deliver food as needed in a high‑quality manner for the associated morning, afternoon or evening meal. The Dietary Aide/Prep will also ensure that the Kitchen and Cafeteria remains stocked and clean at all times to comply with company and HACCP standards.

Additionally, this person will assist in preparing food items to be cooked which include, but are not limited to, vegetables, fruit, meats, etc. Desired candidates are approachable, organized, respectful and detail‑oriented to ensure staff and patient needs are exceeded.

Duties
  • Serves food and cashiers throughout breakfast and lunch services
  • Assists with the preparation of food trays for patient meal service in accordance with diet order and allergies
  • Delivers patient food in a high‑quality and friendly manner
  • Ensures food and supplies are stored properly upon delivery
  • Maintains stock and cleanliness of the serving line, salad bar, counters, refrigerator, tables and chairs in cafeteria
  • Pulls clean dish racks from the dishwashing machines and stores dishes in appropriate areas
  • Adheres to HACCP standards and health departments regulations
  • Upholds safety and sanitation for both the kitchen and storage areas
  • Assists with the preparation of birthday parties and other catered events as needed
  • Establishes and maintains positive customer relations
  • Preps for breakfasts and lunches for the following day
  • Chops and cuts food items for current and following days
  • Follows menu/cook’s instructions to adhere to the patient menu
  • Prepares patient meals according to patient’s diet
  • Prepares sandwiches, salads, and fruit for refrigerator case
  • Updates supervisor in regard to unstocked items, etc. in a timely manner
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Demonstrates eligibility to work for any employer in the U.S.
  • High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent
  • One year experience in a health‑care dietary setting preferred but not required
  • General knowledge of quantity, food preparation and serving
  • Previous aide and preparatory experience is strongly preferred
