Data Analyst, Data Engineer
Description
OnStar Connected Services Systems Engineer is a technical position responsible for ensuring that systems supporting Connected Services are functioning properly and that requests are successfully delivered to active subscribers. This role supports Level 1 or Level 2 escalated Connected Get Help cases to resolve system issues and ensures optimal performance, reliability, and continuous improvement of the systems that deliver OnStar Connected Services to subscribers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve Level 3 (L3) customer issues.
- Design, develop, and refine system performance metrics representing service delivery.
- Build and maintain reporting/analytics to measure system and customer experience.
- Investigate end-to-end performance issues and apply technical analysis for resolution.
- Execute root cause analyses and develop improvement plans.
- Write SQL queries and leverage analytical tools (Power BI, Tableau, Databricks, etc.) to assess performance.
- Document system workflows, dependencies, and validation steps.
In this role, the engineer will support new vehicle customers calling the support center by troubleshooting technology issues on their vehicles (e.g., OnStar button or apps). Although the engineer will not speak directly with vehicle customers, they will communicate internally with non-technical team members. Tasks include SQL extraction and analysis, writing queries, and understanding joins, aggregations, CTEs, and joined tables.
Exposure to Power BI or Python is beneficial for creating automation to solve problems within SQL. The engineer is expected to bring ideas for process improvement and contribute to development thought leadership.

Pay and BenefitsPay range: $30.00 – $40.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
