The Emergency Department RN provides high-quality, compassionate, and efficient care to patients with urgent, emergent, and life-threatening conditions. Working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, the ED RN performs comprehensive assessments, delivers critical interventions, and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to stabilize and treat patients of all ages.

Schedule

Evening shift
- Perform rapid assessments and triage patients based on acuity and presenting symptoms.
- Initiate and manage emergency interventions including IV access, medication administration, wound care, cardiac monitoring, and resuscitation efforts.
- Assist with and/or perform procedures such as EKGs, splinting, catheterizations, and more.
- Collaborate with physicians, providers, and care teams to implement timely care plans.
- Monitor patient conditions, recognize deterioration, and respond to changes promptly.
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and families in high-stress situations.
- Participate in trauma care, code responses, and disaster preparedness efforts.
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and emergency protocols at all times.
- Support patient flow and throughput by coordinating with other departments for admission, discharge, or transfer.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- A bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) is preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience; case management or care coordination experience preferred.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS and TNCC/ENPC preferred.
- Previous experience in emergency nursing or critical care strongly preferred.
- Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and prioritization skills under pressure.
- Ability to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment with a diverse patient population.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records and clinical documentation tools.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and crisis management skills.
Type
: full-time contract employment 13-14 weeks with possibility to extend.
