Salary: $14.31 Per Hour

SUMMARY: To assist in the preparation and serving of food to students/staff in a quick and professional manner.

• Perform daily food preparation as assigned, including salad making, sandwich making, deli slicing, cookies, pretzels, etc.
• Implement HACCP procedures as requested.
• Assist with the daily cleaning of all kitchen equipment and ensure cleanliness and sanitation conditions are met.
• Set up and break down serving lines (salad bar, hot food, à la carte, etc.).
• Perform all responsibilities of a helper, including operating all equipment, POS/cash register, counting money, making change, and reconciling bank deposit and daily paperwork.
• Works professionally with both students and staff.
• Familiar with reimbursable lunch requirements and can properly identify a reimbursable lunch.
• Participate in workshops or in‑service training programs requested by the Director of Food Service to improve skills for overall improvement of the district’s lunch program.
• Perform other similar duties as may be requested by the Head Cook and/or Director of Food Service.

Successful completion of certification for Applied Food Service Sanitation Course taken through statewide training or local training, high school diploma or GED, previous experience with large scale cooking and food preparation/serving.

• Ability to pass an entry level aptitude test.
• Ability to work in a friendly manner with co‑workers and students.
