Job Description
Retail Parts Professional – full‑time automotive parts sales and service role supporting DIY customers. The position requires expert knowledge of store systems, advanced automotive and parts knowledge, and the ability to source parts from multiple channels.
Primary Responsibilities- Provide GAS2 selling experience for DIY customer visits and phone calls
- Achieve personal and store sales goals and service objectives
- Manage DIY services including battery installation, testing, wiper installs, etc.
- Ensure high standards of customer service and store appearance standards
- Key holder responsibilities – task assignment, safety, open/close duties
- Assist in store inventory processes (truck put away, shoot outs, cycle counts, back stock)
- Maintain store cleanliness (floors, bathrooms, facing, dusting, parking lot)
- Provide DIY services (battery installation, testing, wiper installs)
- Friendly communication
- Ability to locate and stock parts
- Safety knowledge and skills
- Operating inventory systems and store equipment
- Parts and automotive system knowledge
- Operating POS and Parts lookup systems
- Expert at testing and diagnostic equipment for DIY services
- ASE P2 certified or ASE ready equivalent
- Advanced solution, project and product quality recommendation ability
- Advanced parts lookup and sourcing
- Advanced selling skills for DIY
Job Skills
- Working knowledge of automotive systems and diagnostic ability (engine, suspension, brakes, electronics, exhaust)
- Speak and write English (Spanish a plus)
- Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, procedure manuals
- Understand and execute written, oral, or diagram instructions
- Complete the Parts Knowledge Assessment
- Use basic math accurately
- Use Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong organizational skills
- Work a assortment of days, evenings, and weekends as needed
- 3‑5 years of prior automotive parts experience
- Proven sales ability in customer transactions
- Valid driver’s license
- ASE certification preferred but not required
Standing, walking, lifting and moving up to 50 lbs, frequent use of hand tools, ability to work in various weather conditions.
