Industrial NHRefrigeration Mechanic

A day in the life — Warren, MI, up to shutdown, you keep our cold chain steady. As an Industrial NH3 Refrigeration Mechanic in Warren, MI, you’ll arrive ready to inspect ammonia systems, fine‑tune equipment for peak performance, and act quickly when alarms or trends hint ’ll partner with production, document work with care, and make safety your constant companion.

• Install, maintain, and repair industrial refrigeration equipment (ammonia/NH3 systems, components, and controls).
• Perform routine inspections, fault isolation, and corrective actions to keep uptime high.
• Execute preventative maintenance to reduce unplanned downtime and extend equipment life.
• Record service activities and keep accurate maintenance and repair logs.
• Work shoulder‑to‑shoulder with teammates to maintain a safe, efficient operation.
• Operate and work around Forklifts, Pallet Jacks, and Ladders, using Fall Protection and strict Lock Out Tag Out procedures.
• Track industry developments and advances in refrigeration technology.
• Follow all safety rules and regulatory requirements when servicing refrigeration systems.
• Carry out other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

• At least six (6) months of recent work experience documented in your work history within the past year.
• EITHER six (6) months of Ammonia Refrigeration experience plus completion of a hands‑on refrigeration training program OR one year of Ammonia Refrigeration experience.
• Rehire eligibility: this facility considers rehires after 90 days and for individuals who have worked fewer than three times here.
• Age 18 or older with valid identification.
• Comfort using basic hand tools and reading/understanding work assignments.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb stairs to 120 feet and ladders up to 60 feet, stand for extended periods, and work in extreme hot, cold, or inclement weather.
