This position performs the duties of journeyman mechanic in maintaining, repairing and servicing a wide variety of trucks, automobiles and gasoline and diesel powered equipment.
Base pay range$40.60/hr - $40.60/hr
Requirements- Graduation from accredited high school or GED plus vocational training in general shop, automotive, and truck repair or completion of an apprenticeship in truck and automotive repair.
- Diploma or official, sealed transcripts required with application.
- Six years recent experience (within 5 years) in performing increasing responsibilities as a journeyman automotive mechanic, with at least three years working on heavy‑duty trucks and heavy motorized equipment.
- Must obtain a valid commercial driver's license with required endorsements within 60 days of appointment.
- Driving record must meet the City’s standards for insurability.
- Employees will be required to provide commonly used tools for automotive and heavy‑duty truck repair.
Pay rate: $40.60 hourly wage. Excellent benefit package includes health, dental, and life insurance, paid vacation, and sick time.
