Job Description

Aramark Facilities Management is hiring a Journeyman Plumber to support operations at the General Motors Technical Center, one of the most advanced automotive research and engineering campuses in the world. This is a stable, long-term opportunity for a licensed plumber who takes pride in craftsmanship, safety, and working in a professional, industrial facilities environment.

An active State of Michigan Journeyman Plumber license or card is required for this role.

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plumbing and piping systems in a large-scale industrial facility
• Work with water, drainage, steam, heating, cooling, and industrial process piping systems
• Lay out, fabricate, assemble, and install pipes, valves, fittings, and fixtures
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
• Test piping systems for leaks and proper operation
• Install and repair plumbing fixtures including sinks, toilets, water heaters, and related equipment
• Perform routine plumbing and pipe fitting work independently
• Use a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to document work
• Support fabrication shop and service departments as needed
• Work safely at heights and in confined spaces when required
• Mentor apprentices and support team members
• Follow all Aramark and GM Technical Center safety and housekeeping standards

• Active State of Michigan Journeyman Plumber license or Journeyman card
• 7+ years of commercial or industrial plumbing experience
• Strong knowledge of plumbing codes and safe work practices
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications
• Ability to work independently or as part of a skilled trades team
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical trade work
• This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
