Respiratory Therapist
Job SummaryAt Warren Nursing and Rehab, we provide high-quality care in a supportive environment designed to meet the complex needs of our residents. Our Respiratory Therapist (RRT) team plays a vital role in ensuring residents with respiratory conditions receive the best possible care to promote comfort, safety and quality of life. The Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is responsible for performing respiratory care procedures and treatments for residents with chronic or acute respiratory conditions in accordance with physician orders, facility policies and regulatory guidelines.
This position works closely with nursing, medical staff and other interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with respiratory disorders, including those with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, and other conditions
Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and other respiratory medications as prescribed
Perform chest physiotherapy, bronchodilator treatments, and other respiratory therapies as needed
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective respiratory care plans
Monitor patients' conditions and adjust treatment plans as necessary
Educate patients and their families on respiratory therapy techniques and self‑care methods
Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care and treatment plans
Perform assessments and provide respiratory care treatments such as oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, chest physiotherapy, suctioning, ventilator management, and other related procedures as the Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
Monitor resident status and response to therapy, report changes to the physician and care team promptly.
Maintain, clean, and calibrate respiratory therapy equipment to ensure proper functioning.
Instruct residents, families, and staff on respiratory equipment use and breathing techniques as appropriate.
Document all treatments, observations, and resident responses accurately and in a timely manner.
Participate in care plan meetings and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members.
Adhere to infection control, safety, and privacy policies.
Maintain current knowledge of respiratory therapy best practices and regulations.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Nursing or Respiratory Therapy Director.

Skills and QualificationsGraduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
Current licensure as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in the state of Ohio.
Current BLS certification required
Previous experience in a long‑term care, sub‑acute, or acute care setting preferred.
Strong clinical and critical thinking skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
