Shift Details
FULL TIME – NIGHT SHIFT – 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
The Shift Supervisor is responsible and accountable for employees, departments and operations of the facility on the evening and night shifts. This includes excellence and quality in patient care delivery, fiscal responsibility, management, and leadership of the evening and night shifts staff. Collaboration with clinical directors, managers and medical staff ensures the highest quality care. Proactive customer service through positive interaction with families, visitors and the community is paramount.
The role is involved in continuous performance improvement, staff monitoring, problem‑solving, and resource utilization.
- Assess and implement daily operations to provide the most effective, efficient and highest quality patient/resident care.
- Ensure delivery of services in collaboration with colleagues across all disciplines and within clinical standards of practice.
- Direct and monitor staff operations to ensure assignments are carried out in accordance with core values, established practices, standards and policies.
- Collaborate with the clinical director, manager, team leaders and human resources to evaluate performance.
- Motivate staff to work successfully as a team; assist staff in critical thinking, decision‑making processes and ownership.
- Manage human resources practices as guided in policy and procedure manual.
- Maintain accountability for daily operations in accordance with overall institutional budgetary objectives.
- Identify process improvements and develop techniques to gather, analyze and implement improved processes focused on the customer.
Required Minimum Education
2‑Year Associate’s Degree in Nursing
Preferred Education
4‑Year Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Licensure/Certification Required
Current nursing license in the State of Ohio and/or Kentucky
Licensure/Certification Preferred
BLS, ACLS, PALS and any other unit‑specific certification; hold national certification in clinical specialty or leadership within 6 months of eligibility
Minimum Years and Type of Experience
Minimum one year experience as a Charge Nurse
