Warren Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Manager and Nurse Scheduler to join our team. In this role, you will oversee the facility Human Resources Department and manage nursing staff scheduling, working closely with the Director of Human Resources and the Director of Nursing. This is a full-time position located in Warren, RI.
Nurse Scheduling- Creates, posts, and maintains schedules for RNs, LPNs, and CNAs to meet resident care needs and state and federal staffing requirements
- Coordinates staffing needs with the Director of Nursing
- Fills call-outs and open shifts, and maintains an on-call and per diem staff list
- Reviews and approves time-off and shift-swap requests according to facility policy
- Monitors overtime and agency use, and reports staffing trends to leadership
- Prepares and posts the daily nurse staffing information as required
- Submits Payroll-Based Journal (PBJ) staffing data to CMS accurately and on time
- Inputs data from worksheets into the computer to generate weekly payroll
- Discusses and corrects any payroll errors or concerns weekly
- Ensures proper payroll deductions are processed through the Paycor payroll system
- Maintains time clock and payroll records as required by law
- Processes all payroll changes
- Maintains OSHA logs
- Understands all employee benefits, including health and insurance benefits
- Understands and can explain the employee handbook
- Manages the workers' compensation process
- Responds to written or verbal requests for past or present employment history
- Initiates employee-selected benefits within the established benefit package
- Oversees benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations
- Oversees FMLA and Massachusetts PFML
- Manages new hire onboarding and pre-employment checks
- Works with the Staff Development Coordinator on new employee orientation
- Processes all employee information from hire through termination
- Implements corporate directives on payroll, health and life insurance, 401(k), and other programs
- Completes all documentation required by state and federal guidelines
- Assists with administrative policies governing payroll and benefit programs
- Attends all assigned facility meetings
- Other duties as assigned
- Minimum two years of HR/Payroll experience in long-term care
- Nurse staffing or scheduling experience strongly preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with particular attention to confidentiality
- Ability to stay organized and calm while handling last-minute staffing changes
- Nursing home experience preferred
