Senior Accountant; Practice

Hours: Full-time, or part-time from around 25 to 30 hours a week considered. Office-based in Warrenpoint, every weekday.

Philip Donnan & Co is a dedicated accounting firm based in Warrenpoint, Co. Down specialising in personalised accountancy services for businesses. We are committed to providing expert support in payroll, VAT, CIS, bookkeeping, budgets, annual accounts, tax returns and tax planning.

• Prepare and review financial statements and reports with precision.
• Manage client accounts including payroll, VAT, and tax filings.
• Utilise accounting software such as Xero to streamline processes.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff members.
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards.
• Assist in budgeting and financial planning activities.
• Support clients with tax planning strategies.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices.

• Relevant accounting qualifications such as ACCA, ACA or CAI preferred or qualified by experience.
• At least 5 years in an accountancy practice, preparing accounts and tax returns for clients
• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or similar role.
• Proficiency in Xero and other accounting software.
• Strong understanding of financial management and accounting principles.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to mentor team members effectively.
• Knowledge of UK financial regulations and tax laws.

This is a full-time role, but we will also consider part‑time hours for the right person, from around 25 to 30 hours a week. Whichever you choose, you will be in the office every weekday, as being on hand for clients and the team is an important part of the job.
