Summary:

The General Superintendent oversees all field operations across multiple projects or large‑scale job sites to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the company’s quality standards. This role provides leadership to project superintendents, coordinates with project management, and maintains strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and inspectors. The General Superintendent drives operational excellence, enforces company policies, and upholds a culture of safety and accountability.

• Ensures Daily Reports are up‑to‑date and on the server. Performs random reviews to ensure Daily Reports are thorough.
• Ensures Pre‑Installation Meetings are being held 4 weeks +/- before the subcontractor is scheduled to be working on the project. Participates in the critical Pre‑Installation Meetings. Ensures meeting notes are issued to all attendees.
• Ensures Superintendents have three (3) week look‑ahead schedules prepared in Excel.
• Ensures Superintendents are holding weekly Foreman/Supt Meetings with subcontractors and are reviewing three (3) week look‑ahead schedules.
• Ensures Superintendents are reviewing the master project schedules on a weekly basis. Reviews schedule update sheets to ensure Superintendents are properly tracking progress on sites to allow for the schedules to be updated monthly.
• Coaches Superintendents on problem resolution. Provides guidance but does not solve problems for the Superintendents.
• Ensures Superintendents are maintaining non‑conforming/deficiency lists to minimize punch list items. Superintendents are to issue lists to the subcontractors on a regular basis.
• Ensures Superintendents are taking progress photos on a regular basis (weekly at minimum) and saving them to the project folder.
• Ensures Superintendents have access or hard copies of every subcontractor’s scope of work and have read them.
• Inquires if Superintendents have signed any subcontractor work tickets and ensures PM is aware of any work tickets that have been signed. Confirms copies of work tickets have been provided to PM.
• Ensures Record Documents are up‑to‑date.
• Determines if any additional work is being performed in advance of Adena receiving approved change orders. If so, determines what documentation is in place to ensure Adena will be paid for the additional work.
• Confirms Superintendents have the equipment needed to properly perform the project and think ahead of equipment needs in the coming weeks/months.
• Provides resource management and planning for Superintendents, including regular coordination with Project Management team to ensure appropriate coverage is maintained across all projects.
• Provides continuity to field operations, ensuring Superintendents are following processes and procedures as defined within company standards or requirements.
• Actively involves him/herself in any project should there be a need but in general will make regular visits to projects carrying the most risk as determined by the executive team including the GS.
• Adheres to the company’s safety policies to create a safe work environment.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED
• 30 Hour OSHA Certification or willingness to obtain within 90 days of employment
• Advanced ability to read building blueprints
• Understanding of CPM scheduling
• Thorough knowledge of Adena Corporation safety plan and OSHA regulations
• Must be willing and able to travel to jobsites which may require stays away from home
• Must have a good work ethic with the ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions
• Ability to perform on a regular basis in outside weather conditions consisting of wet, hot, humid and/or freezing temperatures, also contending with dirt and dust
• Must maintain a clean driving record

• 15+ years of progressive construction experience
• 3-5 years of SCIF construction experience preferred
• Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and safety practices
• Proficient in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, Primavera)
