Position

Description

As a General Manager you join our commitment that food should taste good and be good for you. You will connect with customers, impact our growing business, and serve local communities across the country. This role is an excellent opportunity to hone and develop management skills in preparation for advancement within Flynn – Panera.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise up to 60 staff members to ensure a top-quality service experience for guests.
  • Provide outstanding leadership, inspire and coach the team, create a profitable environment, and deliver an exceptional customer experience.
  • Maintain high standards of restaurant cleanliness, sanitation, food quality, and facility management.
  • Oversee daily operations including shift organization, inventory control, safety and security, and maintenance of equipment and building.
  • Ensure prompt, friendly service and respond to guest complaints according to company guidelines.
  • Effectively schedule and manage staffing levels to meet sales demands and maintain profitability.
  • Recruit, train, and develop employees through orientation, training sessions, performance reviews, and continuous feedback.
  • Control costs and manage the profit and loss statement on a period‑by‑period basis.
  • Maintain compliance with health department, Ecosure, and company policies.
  • Communicate with other managers and the Area Director through logs, shift changes, and weekly meetings.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate sustainable long‑term success and maintain a profitable business.
  • Direct overall activities and performance of employees on a shift‑by‑shift basis.
  • Create an Employer of Choice environment consistent with Flynn Panera values.
  • Respond immediately and rectify all guest complaints.
  • Complete required table visits and maintain adjacent standards.
  • Adjust par levels and maintain adequate inventory levels.
  • Ensure product preparation and presentation meet company standards, using line checks.
  • Promote restaurant organization, cleanliness, and sanitation in compliance with standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance and advise on needed repairs; institute preventive maintenance.
  • Collaborate with the Area Director on non‑routine situations.
  • Ensure quality recruitment and referrals of potential management candidates.
  • Maintain a trained staff through effective use of orientation, individual training, employee meetings and training sessions.
  • Continuously develop employees through heart‑checks, one‑on‑one meetings, performance reviews, and candid feedback.
  • Use detailed interviews and company guidelines for proper selection of employees.
  • Partner with Area Director and HR for additional staffing support.
  • Document situations requiring disciplinary or corrective actions, involving Area Director and HR.
  • Control costs by managing the profit and loss statement.
  • Achieve objectives while operating within all company guidelines and ethical practices.
