The Nurse Practitioner provides primary care, assessment, and evaluation for the neonate and pediatric population. Incumbent(s) may assist with the stabilization of critically ill neonates and pediatric patients prior to transport. Additional tasks may include serving in a teaching capacity and/or oversight of clinical and support staff in patient care activities. In the execution of job duties, it is the universal expectation that all tasks are performed with a patient centered focus, while also seeking opportunities to continually improve core processes.
QualificationsMasters of Science in Nursing. 2 yrs experience with focus on pediatrics and neonates. Virginia License as a Nurse Practitioner. Current BLS and NRP. Excellent communication skills required to effectively relate to family members and physicians. Sound judgment skills required to act independently. High level of personal accountability.
Preferred: 5 years experience with focus on pediatrics and neonates. ACLS and PALS.
