Primary responsibility is to take excellent care of our customers by satisfying each customer's needs and exceeding their expectations. This requires a defined level of product knowledge, food preparation skills, sales ability, customer relations skills, and cooperation with fellow associates to create an incredible place to work and shop. Responsibilities include processing, packaging, and stocking products according to grocery standards, cleaning work areas, providing customer service, unloading stock, and reloading salvage.

• Ability to perform essential duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations for disabilities.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to participate in and successfully complete required training and to work with the team to increase customer satisfaction and sales.
• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• English reading, writing, and oral communication skills.
• Basic mathematical skills (add/subtract two-digit numbers, use American currency and weight units).
• Common sense reasoning ability for detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions.
• Completion of company training (new hire orientation, customer service network, safety, product knowledge).
• Physical ability: stand, walk, use hands to handle items, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, taste or smell; occasionally climb or balance; regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds within 6–72 inches.
• Vision abilities including close vision, color, and depth perception.
• Work environment: frequently exposed to wet, hot, or cold conditions and moving mechanical parts; occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxins or caustic chemicals; moderate noise level.

Harris Teeter reasonably expects to pay between $15.00/hour and $22.00/hour for this role as a newly hired associate. Pay may depend on previous experience and skill sets of the applicant.
