Wellness Instructor-PRN-Varies

Overview

The Wellness Instructor provides instruction to participants within a variety of programs and settings related to Health and Wellness, i.e., yoga, Pilates, aqua aerobics, group aerobics, strength training classes, etc. The Wellness Instructor is responsible for class/program design utilizing established guidelines by health and fitness agencies.

• Provide instruction to participants in wellness programs (e.g., yoga, Pilates, aqua aerobics, group aerobics, strength training) across various settings.
• Design and implement class/program content using guidelines from recognized health and fitness agencies.

• Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to design and implement exercise programs for a variety of different populations/ diagnoses.
• Ability to demonstrate proper use of exercise equipment.
• Experience in a health care setting and wellness programming integrated with a hospital or health system.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or Heartsaver/AED.
• ACE certified fitness instructor, AFAA certified fitness instructor, ACSM certified fitness instructor, or NSCA certified fitness instructor, or specialty certification related to class content.

• Associate's or Bachelor’s degree.
• 2 years of class instruction.
