Senior Structural Engineer 1 – Nuclear at Sargent & Lundy

Hybrid work: three days in the office, two remote. Senior role in a fast‑moving Nuclear Power Group focused on new builds, life extensions and advanced reactor technology.

• Lead design and analysis of steel, concrete and foundation elements for new nuclear facilities and upgrades.
• Prepare and review design calculations, develop specifications, and support designers with drawing development.
• Guide junior team members and coordinate with multidisciplinary engineers.
• Perform structural analysis and design using state‑of‑the‑art software.
• Travel to client and vendor sites for design reviews and construction coordination.

• B.S. in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis from an ABET‑accredited program.
• Five or more years of project‑team experience in structural design and analysis.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP
  2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS.
• Knowledge of design codes and standards such as ASCE 7, AISC and ACI.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

• MSCE degree.
• Experience with power plant and/or industrial structures.
• On‑site construction support experience.
• PE or SE license.
