The salary range for this position is $25.72 - $37.30 (Hourly Rate). Placement within the salary range is dependent on factors such as relevant work experience and internal equity. For positions represented by a labor union, salary placement is guided by the collective bargaining agreement.

Responsibilities- Monitor RAC program updates as they relate to Patient Accounting and Patient Financial Services; assist in coordinating RAC-related activities to meet documentation requests and deadlines.
- Monitor RAC publications and resources to help Patient Accounting understand RAC issues related to PA functions.
- Monitor and communicate potential RAC issues and compile action/activity reports for corrective action or process improvement.
- Generate financial and other information for RAC claims under review; research and facilitate data gathering for leadership and Compliance
• provide data and reports as needed. - Input RAC notation, DRG, claim, and reimbursement information into appropriate systems; collect, organize, and interpret RAC data for risk identification and prioritization.
- Collaborate with Compliance, Billing and other hospital areas to implement changes ensuring NM compliance with RAC requirements as they relate to PA functions.
- Coordinate with NM Academy and PFS Management to ensure timely compliance education and training within PFS.
- Adjust claim information in systems to reflect accurate DRG and level of care for RAC claims under review.
- Assess new RAC information and determine required systems or operational actions.
- Document issues and resolutions with a comprehensive audit trail.
- Adhere to a patients-first philosophy and maintain high standards of customer service for internal and external customers.
- Evaluate procedures and suggest improvements to enhance customer service and efficiency.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by manager.
- Bachelor’s Degree or four additional years of relevant experience
- 4-6 years of hospital healthcare experience with focus on government programs
- Knowledge of Recovery Audit Contractor Program
- Knowledge of ICD-9/10, CPT, HCPCS & MS-DRG coding, healthcare billing, medical records
- Ability to review/analyze billing documentation including UB-04 and CMS 1500 forms, EOBs & remittances
- Ability to work with confidential information and maintain sensitive data
- Expert user experience with MS Excel
- Ability to run system queries & reports
- Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- MS Word & Power Point
- Coding credential (CCS, CPC-H, RHIT, RHIA)
- Project Management
