Pay Range

Part Time - Hours:
3 days/week (3 p‑11 p), 2 weekend shifts/month, 1‑2 summer/winter holiday shifts.
Provides initial response to clients reaching out to the hospital. Conducts initial assessment and schedules mental health appointments. Responds to and triages crisis calls. Registers, reviews, and corrects patient registration information in the computer system. Verifies insurance coverage and eligibility for all Blue Cross HMOI members.
What You Will Do- Answer phone inquiries to determine client needs.
- Respond to and triage crisis calls, partnering with the team to address urgent situations.
- Assist clients in determining appropriate services and verifying eligibility per the HMOI plan.
- Schedule client appointments or refer to contracted providers as appropriate.
- Enter data required for client registration using departmental software.
- Use software to assist with benefit verification, claims adjudication, and other HMOI contract support functions.
- Communicate with providers and/or clients regarding scheduling, information release, and assessment recommendations.
- Review various forms (e.g., Release of Information, Agreement and Authorization) with clients telephonically as necessary.
- Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Maintain highly confidential information.
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries and willingness to seek supervision.
- Associate’s Degree plus a minimum of three years of experience or a Bachelor's Degree.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Behavioral Health related field.
- Minimum of one year of previous experience in healthcare or a behavioral healthcare setting.
- Crisis line or crisis intervention experience.
- Substantial knowledge of insurance plans such as Commercial, Managed Care, capitated plans, Medicare, Medicaid, and Workers Compensation.
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification within 90 days of start date.
- Current CPR Certification issued by the American Heart Association within 90 days of start date.
