DescriptionA clinically competent registered nurse who prescribes, delegates, and coordinates care for acutely ill patients through the nursing process, interacting professionally with patients, families, and the health team. The role adheres to NM’s Code of Ethics and corporate compliance program.
Responsibilities- Collects and analyzes data, identifies outcomes, implements individualized plans, coordinates care delivery, and evaluates progress.
- Directs care and determines appropriate utilization of assistants.
- Collaborates with patients, families, physicians, and ancillary staff to create documented care plans focused on outcomes and decisions.
- Participates in shared governance, committee work, and unit projects.
- Evaluates and documents patient responses to interventions, adjusting the plan of care accordingly.
- Utilizes evidence‑based practice to guide decisions.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing required for all new hires as of 5/2014.
- Current State of Illinois RN license.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and analytic skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR).
- Advanced computer skills.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and basic surgical procedures.
- Effective time management and independent work ability.
- Organizational, prioritization, and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong critical thinking and decisive judgment.
- Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Prior Epic experience.
- Experience in a specific clinical area of six months or more.
