A food processor in the Warrenville, IL area is seeking a Safety Specialist responsible for enforcing safety programs to ensure compliance.
Responsibilities- Assist with implementation of safety standards and procedures in compliance with regulations
- Carry out facility inspections to identify safety concerns
- Lead safety training sessions for new employees
- Investigate accidents, prepare reports and help suggest corrective actions
- Oversee use of PPE and maintain safety records
- At least an Associate Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related field
- At least 3 years of experience in safety, preferably in food processing or manufacturing environments
- OSHA certification preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office
