Free onsite parking A well-known and highly regarded organisation based in Warrington is seeking an experienced Year-End Technical Accountant to join the finance team on a 3-6 month contract. This role will play a key part in supporting the year-end close and external audit process. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical accounting background, ideally gained within audit or practice, and will be confident working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities Lead and support the year-end financial close process Prepare and review statutory accounts in line with UK GAAP / IFRS Act as a key point of contact for external auditors, managing audit queries and deliverables Prepare high-quality technical accounting papers and disclosures Review balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accounting treatments are appropriate and compliant Provide technical accounting guidance to the wider finance team Support with complex accounting areas such as provisions, accruals, revenue recognition, and impairments Identify and resolve accounting issues efficiently to meet tight reporting deadlines About You Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA) Background in audit and/or professional practice is highly desirable Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail Proven experience supporting year-end audits Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise confidently with auditors and senior stakeholders Available to commit to a 3-6 month contract and attend the Warrington office 3 days per week
