A well-established, family-run firm of chartered accountants in Warrington is looking for a Semi Senior to join its close-knit accounts team, working directly alongside experienced directors on a varied, high-net-worth client base.

It's a genuinely hands-on role — you'll get involved from bank analysis right through to draft accounts — with study costs funded in full, whether you're continuing towards ACA or ACCA.

• Has around at least 4 years general practice experience already (this isn't a first job in accountancy) and is studying, or about to start studying, towards ACA or ACCA
• Wants genuine breadth — handling a client's accounts from source records through to completion — rather than one narrow slice of a bigger process
• Values hands-on mentoring from experienced directors and a firm that funds study

This is a well-established, family-run firm of chartered accountants in Warrington, with a loyal client base built on long-standing relationships, including a number of high-net-worth UK and offshore clients. It's a genuinely small team — a handful of director-accountants alongside a close-knit accounts and tax function — with an open-door culture where everyone pitches in, and staff who've stayed for decades rather than years.

The role has opened up because the directors have been absorbing extra work as long-serving colleagues have moved on or retired, and they've now reached the point where they need another capable pair of hands. Accounts Preparation & Compliance

• Get involved in the full process of preparing financial statements for limited companies (FRS
  102 1A/FRS
  105), sole traders and partnerships — from bank and portfolio analysis through to draft accounts
• Assist with quarterly loan interest calculations, and the preparation and submission of VAT returns
• Support with Companies House filings and related statutory work
• Exposure to trust accounts as you progress — full training and support given

Client Exposure

• Respond to client queries under guidance, building confidence working with a loyal, largely HNW client base
• Get involved in client meetings (occasionally taking minutes) with opportunities to travel to clients across the North West, North Wales, Shropshire and Derbyshire

Development & Support

• Assist the directors with ad hoc work, such as preparing documentation for client finance applications
• Help prepare cashflows and budgets, and learn the firm's AML processes for new and existing clients
• Work closely with experienced directors who will teach the reasoning behind the numbers, not just the software steps
