The Commercial Assistant Project Manager provides project coordination, governance and administrative support to enable the effective delivery of major projects within Commercial. The role works closely with the Commercial Project Manager, Commercial Team and wider project teams to maintain plans, track actions and decisions, coordinate reporting and support key governance and assurance activities. The role will help ensure procurement activity is well organised, accurately reported and aligned to project milestones, dependencies and governance requirements.

This role can be based in either our London or Warrington office. Regular travel to one of these locations will be required.

We are recruiting for two permanent positions.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities
  • Support the development, maintenance and administration of procurement plans, working with the Commercial Project Manager and Commercial Team to track procurement activity against need-by dates, delivery milestones and critical path requirements.
  • Provide project administration and governance support, including secretariat support for key boards, preparing agendas and papers, recording actions and decisions, and maintaining clear governance documentation.
  • Coordinate inputs from cross-functional teams to support the management of procurement dependencies, resource commitments and delivery constraints, helping to ensure impacts on wider project milestones are understood and escalated where required.
  • Support the identification, tracking and reporting of commercial and procurement risks, including maintaining updates to risk registers and coordinating follow-up actions with relevant owners.
  • Lead on the collation and production of regular project and procurement reporting, drawing together progress updates, key decisions, dependencies, risks, issues and upcoming milestones to support effective governance and decision-making.
  • Support assurance and approvals activity, including coordinating evidence, maintaining document trackers and assisting with business cases, gateway reviews and related governance submissions.
  • Coordinate workshop schedules, meeting logistics and stakeholder inputs, ensuring materials are prepared, actions are captured and follow-up activity is tracked through to completion.
  • Maintain action, decision and dependency logs, ensuring information is accurate, up to date and available to support project reporting, governance and audit readiness.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience required
  • Experience of providing project coordination, administration or PMO support within a fast-paced project or programme environment.
  • Good understanding of project governance, reporting cycles, action tracking, decision management and risk administration.
  • Experience of supporting the development and maintenance of project plans, schedules, logs and trackers, including identifying dependencies and following up on actions.
  • Experience of supporting projects through approvals, assurance and governance processes, including coordinating materials and maintaining evidence or document trackers.
