An established and growing specialist contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Operations Manager to join its Warrington office and take responsibility for a portfolio of refurbishment, planned maintenance and building improvement projects.
The business delivers a varied range of works across the public and private sectors, including planned maintenance, refurbishment, building remediation, external wall works and energy-efficiency improvements.
This is a key position within the business, offering the opportunity to take real ownership of operational performance while playing an important part in the continued growth of the region.
The Role
As Operations Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the successful delivery and commercial performance of multiple projects and contracts.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading multiple refurbishment and planned works projects from mobilisation through to completion
- Managing operational teams, supervisors, subcontractors and supply chain partners
- Taking ownership of operational and commercial performance across your portfolio
- Monitoring budgets, margins, WIP, valuations, variations and cost-to-complete
- Ensuring projects achieve agreed KPIs, SLAs, programmes and quality standards
- Managing resources, scheduling, productivity and project completions
- Building strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders
- Supporting contract growth and identifying opportunities to develop existing client relationships
- Ensuring high standards of health & safety and compliance across all projects
- Working closely with commercial and senior management teams to drive performance
About You
We’re looking for someone with a strong operational background within refurbishment, planned maintenance, property services, social housing, building remediation or a similar construction environment.
You may already be working as an Operations Manager, or you could be an experienced Contracts Manager / Senior Contracts Manager ready to take the next step.
You’ll ideally have:
- Experience managing multiple construction or refurbishment contracts
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of project profitability
- Experience managing teams, subcontractors and supply chains
- A good understanding of budgets, margins, WIP and cost control
- Strong client and stakeholder management skills
- A solid understanding of health & safety and construction compliance
- Experience with in planned maintenance, social housing, refurbishment, retrofit or remediation would be particularly advantageous
- SMSTS or similar construction-related qualifications are desirable
- Full UK driving licence
