Job Summary

Consultant Psychiatrist – Arbury Court Hospital (Warrington)
Salary: £80,000 – £95,000 a year

Working pattern:
Full‑time (37.5 hours per week)

• Deliver individualized care and treatment programmes for adult women with a wide range of mental health issues.
• Collaborate effectively with patients and multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Lead and contribute to service development, governance and quality improvement projects.
• Build positive relationships with external stakeholders, including NHS England case managers.
• Conduct psychiatric assessments to determine appropriate level of care for women referred to the unit.
• Provide oral and written evidence at First‑tier Tribunal and Hospital Managers’ hearings.
• Stay updated with latest developments by attending conferences, online courses, and other professional activities.
• Complete second on‑call duties (current ratio 1 in 17 for full‑time consultants) and arrange voluntary paid first‑on‑call locum shifts, with time taken back in lieu.

• Full GMC registration and Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
• On or anticipating joining the GMC specialist register for forensic or general adult psychiatry.
• Section 12 approval and Approved Clinician status.
• Good standing with the Royal College of Psychiatrists, with up‑to‑date appraisals.
