Hermon Mar Thoma Church Midlands, is seeking an ordained Minister of Religion to lead our congregation in the Midlands. The successful candidate will provide spiritual leadership, perform religious rites, and oversee the pastoral care of the parish members in accordance with the doctrines and liturgical traditions of the Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church.
Key Responsibilities:
Leading Public Worship:
Conducting Holy Qurbana and other sacramental services in Malayalam and English. Pastoral Care:
Providing spiritual counseling, home visitations, and support to families and individuals. Rites of Passage:
Officiating at Baptisms, Weddings, and Funerals according to Church rites. Teaching & Preaching:
Delivering sermons and leading Bible studies for all age groups and area prayer groups Organizational Leadership:
Serving as President/Leader for church organizations including Sunday School, Youth League, Young Couple Fellowship,Edavaka Mission, Choir and Sevika Sangham. Ecclesiastical Administration:
Maintaining the Edavaka Register and parish records according to Constitution of Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church. Essential Requirements:
Ordination:
Must be an ordained Priest of the Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church (Mandatory). Theological
Education:
Must hold a Bachelor of Divinity (BD) or equivalent degree from a recognized theological university (e.g., Senate of Serampore). Language Proficiency:
Fluency in Malayalam and English (Mandatory for bilingual liturgical duties and community integration). Tradition: A deep, demonstrable understanding of the Mar Thoma liturgy and constitution.
