Site Maintenance/ Estates Team Operative

Key Responsibilities

* To assist in the delivery of a safe and secure teaching and working environment under the direction of the Estates Manager.

* Responsibility for the opening and securing of the College buildings at the start of the day, during and the end of each day.

* Monitoring student conduct and taking appropriate action (when required) whilst on campus.

* Control of vehicle movement and parking whilst on campus.

* To undertake porterage duties for deliveries.

* To undertake reactive and planned maintenance tasks to maintain the College services, fabric and environment.

* To undertake appropriate health and safety checks of the site or specific equipment.

* To monitor and check the heating, cooling, ventilation, hot and cold water services on the campus.

* To assist in the clearing of snow/ice during inclement weather and to maintain, when required, clear routes around the College for students, visitors and staff.

* To accompany visitors, contractors and others on the College campus when requested.

* To assist with emergency evacuation and lockdown procedures of the campus as directed by the Estates Manager (or Health and Safety SLT)

Qualifications, Experience &

Skills:

* Good standard of education (including GCSE Maths and English, minimum Grade 4/C or equivalent) is essential

* Qualification of training in a ‘trade’ or other related area is desirable

* Willingness to train as a first aider.
