Nursery Class Teacher – St Benedict's Catholic Primary School The Role
As Headteacher of St Benedict’s Catholic Primary School, I am delighted to advertise an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, dedicated and caring EYFS teacher to join us as our Nursery Class Teacher. This is a fixed term contract for 12 months, working full time.
The successful candidate will join our committed staff team in ensuring that every child is known, valued and able to flourish and achieve from their very first steps in school.
The successful candidate will:
- Fully support the Catholic ethos of our school, embrace our values and vision for excellence in teaching and learning, and actively contribute to our mission statement.
- Be an outstanding classroom practitioner with high expectations for all children.
- Have a secure understanding of the EYFS Framework and child development, especially for those children with SEND.
- Create a nurturing, stimulating and inclusive learning environment where children feel safe, confident and eager to learn.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Work effectively as part of a team and contribute positively to all aspects of school life.
- Have the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
- Show enthusiasm, creativity and a genuine passion for early years education.
- Be reflective, well‑organised and committed to continuous professional development.
- Have secure knowledge of the teaching of phonics; experience of our chosen programme, Little Wandle, would be an advantage.

The successful applicant will be required to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and complete a disqualification declaration.
