Pay: £85.00 – £90.00 per day
Job DescriptionAs a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other professionals to support pupils with a variety of learning, communication, social, emotional and behavioural needs. You will help create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.
Key Responsibilities- Support pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
- Assist in delivering personalised learning programmes and interventions.
- Promote pupils’ independence, confidence and social development.
- Support pupils with personal care needs where required.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and parents/carers.
- Monitor and record pupil progress and contribute to reviews and planning.
- Encourage positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
- Relevant qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, Childcare, Education or a related field.
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND.
- Understanding of a range of special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language Needs, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, resilience and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
- Experience with in a specialist SEND school or alternative provision setting.
- Training in Autism, Behaviour Management, Team Teach, Makaton, PECS or similar approaches.
- Experience supporting pupils with complex needs.
