You would be joining a successful Design & Technology faculty where Food Technology is a popular and engaging subject that encourages students to develop practical culinary skills alongside an understanding of nutrition, food science and healthy living. The department benefits from modern food preparation rooms equipped with high‑quality appliances and specialist teaching resources.

Students are encouraged to become confident, independent learners through practical cooking sessions, nutritional analysis and food investigation projects. Lessons combine creativity with scientific understanding, enabling students to explore food provenance, dietary requirements, food safety and preparation techniques while developing valuable life skills.

The department regularly organises cooking competitions, themed enrichment days, healthy eating initiatives and links with local catering professionals to provide students with wider experiences beyond the classroom.
