Are you a caring and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you have experience working with pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs) or other additional learning needs?

Balfor Recruitment is working with welcoming and inclusive primary schools to recruit passionate SEN Teaching Assistants. This is a fantastic opportunity to support pupils’ learning, confidence, and development while working as part of a supportive school team.

As an SEN Primary Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional needs.
• Support children with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and a range of learning difficulties.
• Work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging and accessible learning activities.
• Help pupils develop confidence, independence, communication, and social skills.
• Support positive behaviour strategies and help create a calm and inclusive learning environment.
• Adapt activities and resources to meet individual pupil needs.
• Encourage engagement and participation in classroom activities.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families.
• Support pupils’ emotional wellbeing and personal development.
• Safeguard and promote the welfare of all pupils.

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience supporting children or young people within a school, SEN, childcare, or similar setting.
• Experience working with pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or additional needs.
• A patient, caring, and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
• A proactive and flexible attitude towards supporting learning.
• A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

• Competitive daily pay of £90–£105
  , depending on experience and qualifications.
