SEN Teaching Assistant

Teaching Assistant – SEMH / PLMD Support – Mainstream Primary School. Reeson Education is recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs and PLMD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) in a mainstream primary school located in the WA4 area of Warrington. The role is full‑time, long‑term and starts ASAP.

• Provide targeted support to pupils with SEMH and PLMD needs within a mainstream classroom setting.
• Work 1:1 and in small groups to support learning, communication, and engagement.
• Assist the class teacher in adapting lessons to meet individual needs.
• Use a calm and patient approach to support emotional regulation and behaviour.
• Help create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
• Encourage independence, confidence and participation in learning activities.

• Experience supporting children with SEMH, PLMD or additional learning needs (desirable).
• A patient, calm, and empathetic approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils who need extra support.
• A commitment to a full‑time, long‑term role in a school setting.
