Job Title: Head of Business and Economics
Location: City of Westminster, London
Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR (Dependent on Experience)

ANZUK Education is delighted to be supporting a high-achieving secondary school in Central London to recruit an ambitious and inspirational Head of Business and Economics. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher and leader to join a successful and thriving school community.

The successful candidate will lead a well-established department of four teachers, delivering Business and Economics across Key Stages 4 and 5 while driving exceptional outcomes for students. This role would suit an experienced Head of Department or an outstanding Business and Economics teacher ready to take the next step into leadership.

Your Role as Head of Business and Economics:

As Head of Business and Economics, you will be responsible for leading the strategic direction of the department while maintaining a strong classroom presence. Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing a department of four teachers, promoting a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high expectations
  • Teaching Business and Economics across Key Stages 4 and 5
  • Driving outstanding teaching, learning, and assessment across the department
  • Monitoring student progress and implementing effective interventions to raise attainment
  • Developing and reviewing a broad, engaging, and ambitious curriculum
  • Supporting and coaching colleagues to enhance teaching practice and professional development
  • Managing departmental resources, planning, and quality assurance processes
  • Contributing to the wider vision and success of the school
What You'll Need to be a Head of Business and Economics:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • A degree in Business, Economics, or a related subject
  • Experience teaching Business and/or Economics at Key Stages 4 and 5
  • Proven leadership experience or the ambition and capability to step into a middle leadership role
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for academic excellence
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for every student
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
