- Starting salary of £17,000 - £22,000 per year depending on age and experience (increasing to National Minimum/Living Wage after 12 months if applicable)

This role offers the chance to support a team of qualified analysts, chemists, consultants, and engineers who work across chemical testing, radio chemical analysis, and on‑site projects for the UK’s nuclear industry. As an Apprentice, you will be trained in safe lab practices and gain hands‑on experience with a variety of specialist tasks. You will work in a professional lab setting, learning how to handle and prepare chemical and radio chemical samples, support new method development, and play a part in real projects that contribute to environmental safety and nuclear clean‑up.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the preparation of chemical and radio chemical samples.
- Support the team with sample logging and safe handling procedures.
- Help with preparing solutions and materials for use in lab tests.
- Carry out basic housekeeping tasks to keep the lab clean and well‑stocked.
- Help monitor equipment and report any issues to senior staff.
- Follow safety rules carefully, especially when working with hazardous materials.
You will receive full training and ongoing support to help you develop technical skills and confidence in a busy, safety‑focused lab environment. This is a great opportunity to start a career in science while contributing to important environmental and energy work.
